CB77 Float Setting Diagram

The float must be set to 22.5 mm Between Points "A" and "B", at the point where the tab "D" is about to start compressing the tip fuel inlet needle "C".

There is a special tool for getting the measurement exact, but it can be done with a regular ruler. I've found that this setting is easiest to set when the carbs are on the bike, with the bowls off. Others have recommended removing the carbs and turning them upside down so that the float rests on the needle.

Keep in mind that "Type I" needles have compressible (spring loaded) needle tips while "Type II" needles are solid.
