Hard Side Bags - Bates

Hard side bags, manufactured by Bates. Dealer supplied Honda Accessory. Late 1960s.

In order to install the side bags, the rear flipper had to be removed. The flipper bolt holes provide the mounts for the lower side bag brackets (and home-made aluminum spacers).

The wiring is a custom, quick-disconnect harness. The bottom lamps light up when the H/L is turned on, the top - in tandem with the brake light.
