CL77 tuning and timing the engine

Post by thuff1150 » Tue Feb 03, 2026 1:31 am

I've a 1967 CL77 Scrambler I'm restoring, and I'm to the point of tuning and timing the engine. I've installed all new condensers, coils, plug wires and plugs to help illuminate some potential issues. Am I correct in assuming however, both the CB77 and the CL77 engines are the same when it comes to ignition tuning/timing?

Thanks,
Ted

I appreciate your assistance Tim with verifying this information. I just wanted to insure I was taking the correct steps to set proper ignition points and timing for the Type1 engine.

Thank you,

Ted Huff
