Ecotrons is getting a bit of attention on the bike boards I frequent because they're packaging it as a conversion "kit" with just about everything included; wiring, pump, TB, FP, ECU, sensors, etc. The Freescale ECU looks pretty capable. Even has a CEL for getting trouble codes. Not enough electrics...

I'd also be concerned with cooling. Forced induction is hard to sort out on aircooled engines, ask Porsche. I am working with a company on making an EFI kit for the Superhawk... standby on that project! Cooling is an issue with any engine that gets forced induction, water-cooled engines just typica...

I'd like to turbocharge and fuel inject a 305 and I even have the turbo and EFI, although not all of that hassle is necessary to get a basic forced induction setup to work IMO. A draw-through supercharger would be the simplest as there would be little to no extra electrical overhead and jetting the ...

That depends on what the "right" proportions are. The literature I have read generally indicates that stoich and leaner ethanol air/fuel mixtures maintain a higher laminar flame speed than gasoline while richer mixture flame speed decreases. Turbulent burn rates are much faster for bother gasoline a...

The open-air flame speeds of ethanol and methanol are actually higher than gasoline...

Assuming all soft parts in the fuel system are resistant to ethanol, it's mostly just a matter of fuel tuning to get an existing engine to burn E85. I did it briefly with my XR600 as an interim way to get pinging under control. The exact ethanol content of E85 varies between mixed batches. If it hap...

Re: i'm thinking about fuel injection

Back from the dead...again. i want to adapt a TBI to my honda dream..should i use one from a 4.3 chevy v-6? or what do you sugest? Don't use any of that GM junk. Retrofitting car parts is not the ideal way to go, especially since the GM TBI injectors would not only be too large, but the whole setup ...
