Re: Jetting for altitude

I'm at 6300' in Santa Fe, New Mexico. It depends on your air filters and exhaust too. I have big K&N RU-0175 filters and relatively loud EMGO Dunstall replica mufflers. My formerly trashed engine with no compression needed stock #135 main and #42 slow jets; needle at middle slot. On a fresh engine I...

I had K&N RU-0240 filters (3" x 3.5") and the engine felt a bit starved. I actually had to jet down one step to a 130 on my cb77 to get a good mixture and better response as well as noticeably higher revs winding out (it was just going flat at 8k rpm with the 135 jet + short K&N). cb77 carb spacer o-ring

I found a Hillman #883772 O-ring for the cb77 carb spacer: 28mm x 33 x 2.5mm.

My old o-rings are very flat— good thing the spacers are too!

The carb-flange o-ring was replaced with a Hillman #883773 O-ring: 30 x 35 x 2.5mm

Dangs— that WAS easy! haha!! I didn't use any lube anywhere and rotated the rotor clock-wise as I eased the starter-clutch over the starter-sprocket. The starter-clutch rollers are already over the body of the starter sprocket before the Woodruff key is aligned with the slot on the rotor. At that po...

OK and yay!! Thank you for the warning about those parts galling the starter sprocket on assembly from personal experience, pemdoc!! It looks like that might have happened to one of the two starter clutch sprockets that 305racer sent me almost ten years ago along with the starter-motor, solenoid, HT...
