All good advice by Mike. I might add check things like point gap and ignition timing. Make sure the advance is working. Also good or new clean spark plugs go a long way.

Ron I dont think I will make the swap meet on Sunday. I did send that pipe to Quality Plating in Sterling IL and they told me 4 weeks so lets see what happens. I had some more bad luck however. I bought some NOS 3 over pistons and rings so I sent the cylinders to a machine shop and he destroyed one ...

Well I found a company in Sterling IL. They seem to comunicate well so far. I will keep you folks posted. They est. $40.00 a foot to strip rechrome and polish the pipe.
