Two problems seem to plague kickstarter shafts on all of these 250-305 engines. The first is the little '14mm' bush which fits between the low gear and the sleeve gear. After a lot of searching, tweaking and making / modifying a couple of parts, I finally managed to complete this 5-speed gearbox. I have dismantled Dream shocks but have not restored any up to now. I belive theat the dampers are pretty similar to many others of the era. The Dream shocks are one-way damped compared with say, a CL72 which has two-way damping. All of them work by forcing oil through a drilled plate or a stack of ...
