As you lads know, the CB77 was a wonderful bike in its day but it had several design faults that spoiled it and if the motor is out then consideration should be given to doing this work. I believe that SAE30 oil is for hinges and as soon as better oil came out in the form of multigrades in the 60's they were Honda recommended for use in the CB77. I believe personally that the oil has to be a 10:40 or 20:50 multigrade especially if used at all in winter. I also believe that no matter...

After some major upgrades a couple of years back and getting a bit old for heavy, powerful, modern bikes, I've started using my CB77 as my main road bike. Thank you for the responses. I think that I've found the problem, I cleaned and re-tightened the earth connection from the BB Power pack and it runs well again. Had a good little ride for half an hour with no problems at all and lights seem powerful and battery voltage good.

Mine has developed this problem after boring it out to 350cc. I see now what may have caused it regarding the re-sleeving

5 speed Nova Gearbox
Big valves
Bore out to 350cc
Electronic Ignition
Boyer Bransden Power Pack
Duplex primary drive chain and sprockets

Then get it running. :-)

My apologies. The BB power pack is the replacement R/R. The existing rectifier unit is till in place but disconnected.
