Re: ignition

Loud Mouse knows what he is talking about, but I don't know what he said or what you actually did. Timing is usually set at the timing mark and that's about 5 or 10 degrees before TDC. Re: High Pipes

CYB cam was very mild compared to almost any reground cam available in the period or today.

Timing IIRC was 20-40-40-20 @1mm. I can't remember the lift or came dimensions but I have them here somewhere.

I always liked the high pipe look - even on a street CB72/7 or a racer.

Welcome Nate. There are as many ways to approach this as there are people on here. In my opinion, go to 350cc using either the 350 pistons you have or buy a set ready to go from one of the on-line stores. The extra capacity really makes them easier to ride with the extra torque. Stock sized valves a...

Scott, if you are still around and need an answer, Cb200 forks are better in two major ways. First the top bolt is like modern forks and that makes for a stiffer clamping arrangement plus the fork height can be adjusted. Cb160/175 forks are similar design to CB72/77 which are not height adjustable. ...

Copper plating is a good idea for heat transfer but it's easier to get some new sleeves machined. Honda twins of that era did not have enough interference fit and oil seeps into he gap and makes heat transfer even less effective. Cheapest solution is probably to get some LA Sleeve sleeves and machin...

Fortunately you have lots of choices. Your bike has what's commonly known as a wasted spark in that it fires both cylinders every revolution. That happens to be what most 4 cylinder bikes do, so you can use an electronic tacho from almost any 4 from the seventies or eighties. I have used tachos from...
