In my opinion....I would steer clear of this...it's missing a lot and needs a lot of work to complete. Even the tank alone looks to have been shaved and painted, so the chrome tank panels wouldn't mount if you were to get some. Thanks for the replies guys... davomoto....that is what I ended up doing, worked like a charm. I think light tapping might have worked for seals extremely loose (maybe)...but yeah flipping it upside down and have wood around as much of the edge of the aluminum and pulling the shock downward worked o...

Ok one more thing....how hard do you need to hit this thing? I just had the shock tube in a vice and tried to hammer (wooden mallet) the lower aluminum cover off and it's not moving. I did remove the lower allen and the drain bolt when I tried to do this.
