Re: CA77 odd serialBill Silver (a recognised expert on Honda Dreams) seems to agree with you in his documentation that I have. He lists the highest CA77 frame serial number as 314731 from 1963. From there they appear to change to the CA78 format.

Re: Carburetor stuck on full throttle - CA77If I remember correctly, it is easy to have the throttle slide rotated around the wrong way (about 180 degrees). This makes the throttle slide sit much higher than the idle screw and results in high revs. You should be able to tell by the amount of travel in the twist of the throttle.
