Oil leak from behind camshaft left/right end covers

I have an oil leak from the gasket between the end covers and the cylinder head. Can these gaskets be replaced without removing the head or head cover? Engine is still in the bike. Looks like it is just 4 bolts and the points need to be removed from the right side. Anything else?

Follow up

Thank you all for the help! I followed all of the suggestions with a new gasket and torqued to 18Nm. The Scrambler runs with no leaks! I have a very minor fuel weep from the carburetors, but that should be an easy fix. I'm very happy to not have to pull the engine again... Thanks everyone for the he...

RE

I should mention that I pulled the tappet covers and the upper portion of the head is getting oil. I thought maybe there was a block and that could be causing it.

Leak between head and cylinder on reassembled engine

Hello all. I've just reassembled the engine for my CL77. I installed a complete gaskets set during the installation. New head bolt nuts were installed and torqued to 15 ft-lbs. The M6 nuts on the studs between the head and cylinder (by the spark plugs are tight. The knock pins were put in and o-ring...

Thank you both for the input! I was able to get it off with some well positioned deadblow swings. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't battling something else...on to the next step...

Thank you. Pistons move freely, I guess it’s just stuck in there then! I just wanted to ask before I got too bulky with it. Thanks!

Help removing cylinder

Hello. It’s my first time inside the 305 engine and I am following the Clymer repair manual. I’ve removed the head and am working on removing the cylinder for bore inspection. The manual says the cylinder lifts straight off after head removal. I cannot get it to budge. Any thoughts? Does the case ne...
