Rear axle nut

Couldn't locate the search button... sorry

Does anyone know what the torque should be for the rear axle nut on a 1966 305 Dream?

O. K. I did have to pull the shock to get the rest of the chain cover off. Now I just have to wait for the new chain to be delivered and see if I can thread the chain around the front sprocket without dismantling any more of the bike. On the plus side... the bike wouldn't idle (sat for 2 years) unle...

Like I asked before G-Man. Do I need to take the left shock off to get the top cover off. I'm trying to get some advice rather than just pulling everything apart... but if I have to I will.

Find the joining link. Attach the new chain to the old one and pull through until the link shows up again. Connect the two ends of the new chain and you are done.

That would work EXCEPT the old chain came completely off when it broke. It's sitting on my garage floor right now.
