Well I have an update on the 'should I sell my bike' question. This morning my wife convinced me to keep it. So I may end up keeping it until the end :)

Finally managed to get out for a late-season ride. That's still only 'maintenance' voltage being generated. I'd think it would need to be over 13 volts to be really 'charging'.

Doesn't look like it. Any reason why Bilstein in particular? There are plenty of other makers that make bike-specific shocks. The issue that I found with sourcing shocks other than stock for a CB77 (if that's the bike you have) is the clevis mount on the bottom.
