Front Fork Top Bolt Torque setting?

Hi All - Just replaced the two rubber "cushion covers" at the top of the front forks under the fork bridge - originals had completely deteriorated, and that bridge fork is quite snug! Took a lot of spray oil and taps from a rubber mallet to lift off the fork bridge - is that normal? My question is -...

Mine is CB72E 113427, so it looks like it towards the end of the first run for '61 export I think.
Is yours 10969?

Still have the shocks. Traded one muffler to Tim Miller. It had a hole I could never repair - he could.

What is about the engine? The wiring harness said 1961, although it was titled for 1962. The previous owner said some rebuilding was done at approx 5K, not sure for what...

wow - 2 '61's - I'd love to see them if you care to post any pix. Good luck with the mufflers. It sounds like an impossible task - maybe that's why it takes so long...but worth it I'm sure.

Thanks. Hi Tim - I bought/swapped some parts with you a few years back (muffler, hand grip). It's a CB72, titled 1962, but harness says 1961, so I guess it's really a "61. BTW, I remember you restored mufflers - wondering if you have any for sale? I've got Emgo Dunstalls on it; they are fine but NOI...
