Re: eBay shocks CL77

Thanks. I have a pair that you can have for the cost of shipping. ;-) I finally settled on a pair of Hagon shocks. They are expensive but are generally thought of as high quality but I'll be able to tell more when spring happens. They fit properly and easily. They even look like they were made for t...

Re: eBay shocks CL77

I have some experience and it's all bad. Someone is making some cheap units that are not even fit for purpose. They are being sold for various prices, usually between ~80 USD and 150USD, mostly from Thailand. Here is a typical set . Shocks are hard to find at any price so out of desperation I bought...

Re: C72 from France

That is very true. :-) Another member here, GMan, did a great write-up on rebuilding the front and rear shocks and listed seals etc that are required. This may help you. I miss his contributions. Here's a link to his Flicker site. You'll have to scroll down to find pictures of rebuilding shock abso...

Re: Crankcase clacking when hot - NOT kickstart

You say that the sound comes from low down in the engine so I don't think that the cam chain would be the most likely cause. The first place I would look is at the primary drive chain. It's low in the engine, would do the same thing if loose and it's easy to get at, being behind the left side cover....

Re: Half wave rectifier

I have access to a complete Honda Workshop Manual for Honda 65 series and Honda 50 series models. Published in August 1964. It's a large file (50+ MB) so it would have to be emailed. The workshop manual has several pages discussing the charging system and selenium rectifier, including graphs, photo...

Re: Half wave rectifier

My question is since the coil, actually both coils, are grounded does that make them half wave producers? See S90 schematic for comparison of half and full wave generation. Many remember having poor lighting on these small bikes at low rpm’s as the lighting is AC and rpm dependent. Would it benefit...

Re: Half wave rectifier

I have found a wiring diagram here . If you download it you can get a higher resolution copy. Questions. 1. Is this the correct wiring diagram? 2. What do you mean by lighting coil ? Is it the generator coil on the left side in the diagram? 3. Do you know what is connected to the rectifier with a wh...
