Threaded hose barbs is how they came. The actual tubes or barbs aren't the pert that gets clogged, at least in my case. It was the passage inside the head. You can see the breather barbs in this pic.

I think the earlier shock mounts did not have an area to accomodate the addition of blinker lights. Hey Wombat I think you got things switched around a little. Barrels, heads and lower end-no paint. The covers ARE painted. At least that is how they came from the factory.

My starter gear slipped right off without a problem. You need to take the drift key out. A small screwdriver and prying in the groove will make it pop right out. Then you can replace the seals on the end of the crank and the seal in the starter gear.

Oh the piston, remove the clips from the grooves and remove the pins. Mine needed some light taps from a tapered punch and plastic mallet to get them started. After that they slid right out.
