I too pack the hubs on my vehicles. The reason for me is that as the wheel becomes heated the extra grease can migrate into the bearings. I have noticed that on my truck the "extra" grease is always spread evenly inside the hub and has a smooth surface (if that makes sense) when I take them apart. L...

This might be a stupid question.........but here it goes. Do the fork tubes have a pinch bolt at the top, you would see them from the back. If they do then removing the caps will not release the triple. I am assuming the forks are still in place.

A shot in the dark here, but have you eliminated the coil being water logged? The first dose of water could have made it run like crap, then the condensation could have shorted it out.

Well you did!!! dad gum ya. I just found this site recently and love checking out the CL's. I have my old CL72 that I used to ride to high school (graduated 1970) and want to get it on the road someday. Pictures like yours are an inspiration to me, in fact that pic is now the screen saver on my lapt...
