Check the breather tube where it dumps out. The center stand can pinch it off when the stand is in the up position. My CL72 did that twice to me before I figured it out. Mine would pop the counter shaft seal where the clutch rod goes through, IIRC. But that was almost 40 years ago!

@G3, it looks to me like your pedal is clocked wrong on the shaft. The top of the pedal should be level or in line with the foot peg.

On the kick starter side that big slotted screw looking thing is for the cam/lifter for the clutch. The bolt below it is the lock for the cam. I believe you need to loosen the tension at the handle first. Then take up the slack at the cam adjustment and tighten the lock bolt. After that you do the f...

You didn't lose the ball at the end of the rod , did you? That would make it not disengage for sure.

I think that there is a very limited amount of "lift or push" on the actuator cam. If you have the handle doing all the adjustment then the clutch will not disengage. I am not positive on the adjustment of the cam (the doohickie on the side case). Perhaps someone could walk you through that part. Ex...
