Re: C72 from FranceI had no problem with the charging circuit on my CA77 but I didn’t often ride with the lights on continuously. It looks like you’ve had a nice ride with your friends through the beautiful French countryside. The Honda is a very relaxing bike to ride as long as you don’t try race it.
Re: C72 from FranceYou can disassemble the bottom end of the engine without disturbing the top end. Just remove the outer cases and clutch etc then flip it upside down and remove the lower case.
Re: C72 from FranceThe fuel tap seal kits are available but here in the uk the Ethanol in the fuel caused the new kit I fitted to swell and jam the tap within two weeks. I ended up fitting a cheap Chinese tap with an adaptor that works fine.
Re: How screwed am I?I did a similar method on an old Norton, I bored inside the rings and then was able to break the piston away without damaging the bore.
Re: C72 from FranceThey should improve the handling, I always felt my CA77 was really nice to ride until you started to corner a bit faster or ride a bumpy road, then it got a bit too exciting.

Re: How screwed am I?I don’t wish to appear rude but…… why do people take either the carbs off or the plugs out before storing the bike in a river for a few years. Always seems such a shame that what could have been rebuildable becomes a salvage operation!
