There are small springs that go under the plungers. Very fine wire! They seem to disappear, kind of like one sock of a pair in the dryer. Take the four bolts holding the tensioner to the cylinders out. The whole mechanism will come out with no parts dropping in. Most problems are best solved by the process of elimination. Since your battery spins the starter and runs the bike your battery and ground cable are good. In past threads here you may have read that the starter solenoid operates by grounding the start button. Look at the wiring diagram posted here ...

No, the plate you mentioned does not come with any rebuild kit I have purchased. I bought mine on E-Bay from Hong Kong. No problem with them sending it. They put a lot of 10 on now and then, and I am sure someone has some. Put out a query.
