From my time in 1962 uncrating bikes after school at the local Honda dealer, I believe there was a bolt coming up from the bottom of the crate on the CA72/77's. It was threaded into that bracket to hold the bike (and possibly some other components) in place during transport. Regards, Chase

I've had excellent results with cleaning the barb itself and the petcock ID, then using a thin film of either red Loctite or JB Weld (my preference) on the OD of the barb, and pressing them back together. Regards, Chase

You do have an original fuel cap. Early ones had a polished aluminum top, later ones were chrome plated steel. Yours looks to be in good shape, so do not discard it, as someone wanting a period correct item could use it. The replacement ones are taller for easier grip, and have a better venting syst...

The spline should be 11.35mm diameter , with 30 splines. Most Honda shifters from the 60's and early 70's should be for that spec. You might want to look on the Common Motorcycle Collective site, and check out their CB350 shift arms. Regards, Chase

Clauss Studios (claussstudios.com) has a horn wire molded rubber for a CB450 that can be trimmed to fit. Lots easier than trying to carve one out of a chunk of rubber. Regards, Chase
