From the float needle valve back to the tank, it sounds like the needle valve is stuck or not enough fuel in the tank.

Try unclipping the bowl, let the float hang down, put a small tray under the carb and turn the fuel on. It should flow and if it does then lift the float to make sure it cuts the fuel off. If no fuel comes out work back from there.

Hi Nick, I think you are correct it's a 1964. The numbers are not too far from each other for it to be the original engine but I will stand corrected if wrong, maybe someone else will chime in.

Please do NOT go anywhere near it with a plasma cutter, you could easily wreck it. I have been in the fabrication industry all my life and have many years experience with these machines and would not attempt it on one of my cranks. I suggest you go to you tube and look at methods of broken tap remov...

The heads have a cast in skull made of iron unless it's a very early model, if you look you will see the cast iron in the plug thread area it's a different colour to the ally around it.

I have had quite a few primary chains and others off them, just tell them its for a Honda cb72/77 and they know the size, no measuring. They know the sizes for all 72/77 chains, cam, starter, oil filter and rear.
