Thanks for the interest. I'm sorry, but I live in Kansas and don't take it anywhere but to Oklahoma and Texas.

Lightened Crankshaft

Has anyone had any experience with lightening the crankshaft on a 305? I want to look into the possibility of doing this to my vintage racer. I know that Falicon performs this service and I was wondering if there was anyone else and if there are any issues involved that would need to be addressed.

I have a '65 that I'm using the Barnett's in. The clutch was originally added in 1966 and has a spacer plate that takes the place of one of the friction and drive plates, but I think that they will work fine for your engine. Mine has a 65mm bore and a roller cam and the clutch has held up fine. I'm ...

I'm running 32mm Kehin CV's from an early model 5-speed CB450 and have had them on the motor since 1968. The motor has a 65mm bore. I fabricated some aluminum intake manifolds to adapt them to my head and to keep the overall length of the intake tract the same as the stockers. The motor runs great w...

I thought of a few more things regarding the big bores in a 305. The early Forged True 350 kits had a problem with the pistons seizing due to a lack of lubrication. The solution was to drill a very small hole at a dimension down from the top of each cylinder at the front, into the oil passage betwee...

I gave up on the overbored liners back in the '60's. They smoked pretty bad when I ran the bike hard. I put a Webco 350 kit in it for a lot of years, which had Forged True pistons and 64mm liners. When I needed a rebore, I went with CB350 pistons and rings. I had to remachine the crowns to get prope...

Go ahead and run the full advance. I ran almost exactly the same setup back in the late '60's. You're right, the overbored stock liners are not a good choice for racing, I tried that one too. I still have my 305, which I restored to racing trim several years ago. There's a couple of threads on this ...
