Re: CL77 Wiring DiagramIf forced to deal a leaky rectifier draining the battery, I would be inclined to replace it. If it's in the condition to drain the battery most likely it's not charging all that well when it's running. A $3 Radio Shack rectifier can solve a lot of problems.
Re: CL77 Wiring DiagramAs I recall, the "ch" terminal on back of the main switch is just a convenient way to join the red/white wire from the rectifier to the wire harness that connects to the battery terminal. Another (fused)wire comes back from the battery and connects to the "bat" terminal on the switch. Two separate w...
Re: Syncing the CL77 CarbsYou need to adjust the throttle cables so the slides lift at EXACTLY the same time off the bottom. The way we did back in the day(before fancy vacuum gauges and carb sticks) was as follows: Back off both throttle stop screws an equal number of full turns to get the slides all the way shut(keep track...
Re: Purpose of this? Those two tabs, facing downward, mount the bottom half of the chain guard.
Re: what are these vents for? They vent the intake valve guides to keep vacuum from sucking oil into the engine while coasting in gear. They were attached to a teed line that plugged into the front of one air cleaner. Honda did away with them on the later engines.
Sometimes a hard clutch pull can be traced to improper adjustment. Pull the outer cover off the right side and check out the angle between the cable end and the release arm. Ideally, with the clutch lever pulled back to the handlebar, that angle should be no more than 90° which gives the best mechan...
