I had a similar problem with my CB72 when I rebuilt it. Two of my cylinder studs had backed out part way when I disassembled the engine, and although my torque readings were right, it still leaked. When I had my CB77 frame powder coated, I left the suspension bushings in the swingarm for powder coat. I used a shop press to remove them afterward. They did a great job of keeping the powder coat out of the opening in the swingarm.

The plastic badges also don't stand up well over time when exposed to a lot of sunlight and temperature changes. Many of them disintegrate over the years. I've gotten several tanks with just bits of crust trapped under the badge screws.
