Thanks for info Steve, When I stripped the engine and box I did inspect all gears and their relative dog teeth and all appeared ok. My clutch definitely needs a bit of work, I thought, although it is it worn it would do for the initial shakedown. Just done about 50 miles on it today and have a few i...

Re: Carb insulator

You were offered one from your side of the Atlantic. ...............lm Hi Steve, oil is brand new 20/50 and the engine has been stripped and rebuilt but only the starter clutch and cam chain was renewed. Everything else seemed good enough although I did find the previous owner had left out the oil ...

Carb insulator

Hi Steve, oil is brand new 20/50 and the engine has been stripped and rebuilt but only the starter clutch and cam chain was renewed. Everything else seemed good enough although I did find the previous owner had left out the oil baffle from the head so I had oil pumping out of the breather. The clutc...

Carb insulator

I've managed to offset the existing insulator so it covers the o ring but will take the carb back off on Monday. Another question while I'm here, when timing the engine using a strobe, which of the two marks s...

Carb insulator

DJM They are highly distinguishable from the 'normal' CB72/77 with that little cut-out and hole. David Silver claims he can get them and is selling at £7 if yours is not the real deal. G Thanks G man, Just phoned David Silver and they tell me my bike is 1964 but the Vintage Japanese motorcycle club...

Carb insulator

Hi there DJM, If It's the right one Id be happy to buy it off you. The ones I've seen on eBay America have a semi circular groove on one side and what appears to be a tiny hole drilled through the larger inlet hole. The one the previous owner has fitted has the right size inlet hole but the flange i...
