but that's about 14,000 US dollars...
Unless Ed Moore built the bike, I can't fathom that.
Around here, a non stock runner in REALLY clean condition isn't going to go for much more than 4,000 USD

that engine looks great.
might need to take mine somewhere to get it vapor blasted.
the medium I use and the "quality" of my blasting cabinet isn't going to return that nice of a product.

Thats a lot of things that differ from stock/recommended. So i'm not sure that I have any advice worth listening too. I would entirely document the current carb settings so you can return to these as known running configuration... then start with a new throttle cable, move back to stock settings/nee...

Have you checked the entirety of the carb settings regarding the high idle?
what elevation are you at?
