Bike is original except for the rectifier which I replaced about a year ago, new battery about 6 months ago as it was little reluctant to start with the button. OK all done - great improvement! All the things I thought might have been gearbox-related turned out to be the clutch. Cleaned the oil strainer thingy and refilled with 10-30 and the bike is a pleasure to ride.

I think I have read every post about the various clutch plate configurations but still have a question. If its any consolation I have the exact same problem. I have replaced all the shaft seals under the right side cover (5 if I recall), also in desperation the seal for the oil pump mounting, (convinced myself that was the problem at one point). Still leaks, although not as much, and I kid myself that...
