Sidecar -- Is there any kind of structural support back by the air filter, or are they just hanging there?
My only concern is that the stock air filters have that metal frame that bolts to the frame of the bike, thereby giving some support back there. I've been toying with the idea of trying to mount K&N's using the metal air fiilter frames from an old pair of stock filters that I have.

Did you have to do any carb adjustment after you installed these filters?

Not sure if you'd be interested but this is how I solved my air filter problem:

I took the original filter housings, stripped away all the deteriorated paper filter element, repaired the damaged screen supports and applied these "UNI Filter" 5/8" foam elements using contact cement.

Bought the UNI Filter sheet from a local bike shop and there was enough for both filters and some left over. Total cost....$15.00

Those plug wires go down the middle between and under the carbs and the holders go straight down with the open end forward with a nice gentle bend.
Just trying to help. ..........................lm

Thanks Ed,

Haven't quite figured out where everything went at one time so any help is appreciated.
