CL77 Non Stock Fuel Tank???

Post by bweed2112 » Mon Mar 28, 2016 6:31 pm

Hi all,
The tank that came on the bike that i'm fixing up doesn't appear to be stock, from what i'm finding online.
The issue is that there is no reserve stem on the left side on the tank, if sitting on the bike, which also means there is no reserve stem on the petcock.
Aside from this the tank and petcock appear to be correct, but the diagrams and tanks i've found around online all show these reserve stems.
I will post pictures the next chance i get, just wondering if anybody had any ideas

Depends on the year of your bike. I have a 67 that has no barbed fittings on the tank. The reserve is all in the valve (only hoses are to the carburetors) with a standpipe inside for the on position then directly off the bottom of the tank for reserve. I think that 67 is the only year with this tank (someone please correct me if I'm wrong.)

This is a 67, so if that's the case all I'll need is a rebuild kit and a valve stem for inside the tank, this one's cracked.
Any ideas on where to find a replacement Petcock?

If of any help, my 1967 Serial 104xxx, just has the petcock with two carb hose outlets. No crossover fitting.
