I just read this thread and i was wondering if these carbs would be a good option?
I know some purist will tell me to rebuilt the old one,but for the price they ask...why bother!?

CB750 carbs on CB77CB77 Carb OptionsLast year at a Bike Meet I met a guy who was riding a very tidy, almost original CB77.
I say 'almost' as he had replaced the original 26mm Keihins with new Chinese made carbs he had found via the internet. They were almost identical in appearance to the originals and certainly didn't look out of place, I understand that they came ready jetted for the CB77 and were a simple bolt on swap. Also, being Chinese they were very competitively priced too, IE Cheap. The bike's owner was really pleased with them and claimed that the tickover and slow running particularly were 'transformed' - of course I don't now how knackerd or badly adjusted his original Keihins were! Sadly I have lost the guys contact details and didn't get enough info about the carbs either so can't provide any more information than that, has anyone else heard of these. Certainly sound as if they are worth following up. It's not really relevent but I know that Allen Millyard (Google him) tried a set of these on his Honda Six replica but had trouble setting them up for that engine. He eventually went to a set of classic round-slide Kehins, I think.
He's a very competent Engineer so he knows whet he is doing. Maybe they just didn't suit the FZR250RR engines that his engine is built around....   G

The pwk flat slide carb is a popular upgrade for Yamaha 2 strokes. Obviously the genuine Keihins are expensive but there was a good (Thai I think ) copy by Koso but then there are Chinese copies of the Koso. These are the ones you see for sale on ebay, they may say koso but I am pretty sure they are not, I did look to try and buy some Kosos but when asked nobody would confirm they were genuine.
I think some of the Yamaha people have got the Chinese ones to work by replacing the jets with genuine ones but most people just consider them as rubbish and not worth bothering with. Having said that they are so cheap I was certainly tempted to try a set on my ypvs but in the end I resolved the problems I was having so did not bother. As far as use on a cb77, I had also heard of use of Chinese carbs from somewhere but can not remember where. There are also round slide Mikuni copy carbs on ebay though tricky with a lot of them to be sure what size they are. I guess if someone does not have a good set of genuine carbs it must be worth a try. Greg ok,heres two choices,but i don't know which one is better.So,i need your help...
