Anyone used Permatex or J-B Weld Tankweld ?Update -
Had a reply back from Permatex in North Carolina :- Hi Phil. I do not recommend our kit form for this repair. It could dissolve over time and uses fiberglass strands as a backing. Our “putty” style is now safe on up to 10% ethanol gas. Part number for this is 84334. Graham - I had seen the Masterbond mentioned on a different forum but its only available to industry buyers. LM - you have obviously had great results from JB Weld so will see which is more readily available from here. Phil
No axe to grind here however I've never had a problem with JB on any part where there was gas in direct contact. ....................lm

I can say for certain from direct experience that 10% ethanol fuel will eventually go right thru JB weld. it might take a month or a year, but it will eat it up. and I am a big believer in JB weld. I have used it to repair combustion chambers on cyl heads!. but now, in 2018 with the piss that we get for fuel, we need to rethink a lot of what we do on these old machines. rubber gaskets won't work, you need viton o-rings,spark plugs don't read right, fuel tank fill caps leak.
