CV carbs

Post by Indy Bob » Fri Mar 24, 2023 12:06 pm

On my '67 CB75 a previous owner replaced the stock carbs with a set of CV type carbs. Has anyone else tried this?

I've used honda CB450 carbs on two of my Super Hawks. The first set in 1968 were mounted using 3/8" aluminum adapter plates. Shortly after this I made adapters from two pcs of 3/4" aluminum (total approx 1 1/2"). The fall of 1969 I made a pattern and cast and machined aluminum adapters
which I am currently using on my 358cc Super Hawk cafe bike. I never changed any of the jetting in the carbs. They are close to the frame backbone, and you can't use the stock air filters. Maybe smaller cv carbs with rubber diaphrams would be an easier fit. Check with Sudco a Makuni carburator supplier, They may have a bolt-on pre-tuned carb setup.
