Speedometer housing

Post by boogieman277@sbcglobal.ne » Sun Jul 22, 2007 8:17 pm

I have a 1966 ca77 305. The housing for my speedometer cable on the front wheel turns.
If I place the cable inlet on the bottom, then tighten the outer nut and the lock-bolt, when I go for a ride, when I get back to my garage, the inlet for the cable will be jamed up at the fork. Why?
Is there a "lock pin" of some sort inside, can I overtighten the big nut on the right side of the axle?

No lock pin just need to lift the wheel and spin it as ya tighten the axle nut and be sure ya don't tighten the nut to much. .............lm

Thanks LM, going to try that in the mornig. I'm just kind of worried that the housing will make my front wheel jam when I'm going down the road and make me take a "Nose dive", if ya catch my drift.
