Squeeky shocks, a little bouncy - options?

Post by kloan » Thu Jul 19, 2007 7:31 pm

I have a '68 CA77 and the front shocks are a little bouncy and are squeeky. The rear seem ok.

What are my options? Is there a way to service them, or do they need to be replaced? I don't imagine replacements are too easily found.

squeaky shocks....

my 64 ca77 has the same problems, and ive been looking at ebay every week or so for some new, or atleast newer looking rear shocks. the guy i got my dream off of said the shocks were some kind of pressureized gas bottles for the dampening or something, but i dont know about that.....he also said the bike needed all this work, and in reality i just cleaned the floatbowl out and it fired on the second kick. but i was thinking that if there were any truth to his statement,l perhaps you could simply install a shrader valve and hit it with a nitrogen bottle, providing there were good seals in it. anyhow, this is speculation about speculation at this point..... i did hit the front fork grease fittings, but its still squeky. i think its sort of adds to the bikes character.
