Fork seal part numbers.

Post by chrisnoel » Sun Mar 06, 2011 9:57 pm

Hi again.

looking to order fork seals from Flea-Bay and I want to make sure I get the right part number. Only seals I can find being sold for cb77's that list the dimensions are "Pyramid 014-984". The dimensions they list seem wrong to me.

They list 33mmX46mmX10.5mm.

I measure 33mmX43mmX9mm.

I measured three times to make sure I'm not crazy as I often am when I get a set of calipers in my hand. Are the sellers just wrong about the dimensions of their set or should I go to another source to get a set that will fit "tried and true"?

Any one have some nice "better that Pyramid" references?

Thanks, Chris.

Hi Chris. No, you aren't going crazy. I went through the same thing for my 66CB.

Nick at Ohio Cycle has them:

p/n 90755-268-010 at $17 per set. Much easier to get in than the 46mm wide ones d'oh!

Thanks. Left a voice mail at power sports/allballsracing but no reply from them.

btw Chris, the other size is for the older front fork lowers ... they're made out of steel and are a 1-piece axle mount at the bottom instead of having that nice bolt-on lower clamp. I guess they're more common because that's all I ever saw.

Ok.

Took me a few days to get and answer over at Ohio Cycle.
Bit of a learning curve figuring out that the phone is off the hook for regular buisiness hours.
Finally got through to find out that ordering over the phone is out of the question.
Printed up the order form as instructed to find out that purchasing a money order would be required.
Tried caling back again to confirm shiping expenses, phone still off the hook during BH.
Got the phone to ring later in the evening but no answer.
Wadded up the order form and tossed it on my floor board.
Four days later I get the feeling that customer service is not Ohio Cycles strong point and I don't need to deal with them.

Any one have another source for these fork seals?

1st size has got early super hawk, 2nd late super hawk. So better make sure before purchase. I can produce custom made seals if anybody is interested.
