CB77 Front fork covers

hello any tricks to removing the chrome fork leg covers or are they just super tight .

If you have steel sliders they twist off. (may require a spanner to fit the holes that are at 90 degrees)
If they are aluminum they slide up.
(may require a CAREFUL TAP FROM THE BOTTOM). ...............lm

Just stripped two pairs of steel ones. One needed a little bit of gentle heat before I could undo it using a strap wrench. The other came off easily.
