Just bit-the -bullet & started to hack the replacements about, either that or I bin them!!
First pic is one fitted correctly using the bracket, & it looks cr*p.

Second pic, I cut a vee in the pipe, bent & had a couple of trial fits before welding, then had
to fabricate a new mounting-bracket, not finished yet, but I think it already looks better, it
won't suite the purists out there, but I don't care!!

The hard bit is making the other side 'match' the angle & spacing! Ho-Hum.

The bikes looking really nice, super restoration. Are the carb covers your injection moulded ones or did you manage to find some originals?

thanks for kind comments, but the covers are not injection-molded, I 3D printed them, not
perfect, this is the 6th set i've done, all not right, & this is the latest effort, & they are more
or less there, having difficulty forming the lower front corner. I printed the knob as well! I might just 'tweak' the design & print more, but not in the mood right now!!

The real problem with your restoration is I now feel less satisfied with mine. The few bits that I let go just so I could get it on the road I will now have to finish off properly. I'll probably leave it till Autumn and then pull it apart and attend to those final details.

M; interesting, what can you tell me about metal/composite printing? I'm thinking about a brake plate for a CB92.unobtanium, but I have a good one for a pattern.

Nothing i'm afraid, the covers I printed are plastic!!

If I printed one from my machine it would last as long as a chocolate exhaust pipe!!

Seriously though, some years ago I needed a few alloy parts, not bike related, so I made wood plugs & prepared them, took them to a small, local foundry where they sand-cast them, maybe the same could be done from your pattern, but then machining will be required to complete.
