CL77 Swing arm shock bushings

Post by gbyoung2 » Wed Sep 19, 2018 7:23 am

OEM versions appear to be unobtainum. Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket version out there, or a suitable substitute?

TIA

FWIW - I did do a search here and found a couple of suggestions:

David Silver no longer has them, and one said he got some at Ace Hardware, but a search of their site didn't show anything remotely similar. These were older 2015 posts.

The bike isn't mine and was looking for another, and he may pick up some that are on eBay, or a length of the rod from Amazon. I can turn either of them down to fit.

The closest ones that came to mind when he first asked were idler arm bushings that were used in the steering linkages of older cars. The hard part would be finding some of the correct OD and ID. If too long, they could carefully be cut to the proper length.

Got a Honda part number? Did you try Ohio Cycle or member LOUD MOUSE?

This forum thread and a link within it discusses the bushing sizes - 8mm ID X 20mm OD X 19mm wide. http://www.honda305.com/forums/replacme ... html#89869 Good info if you can turn them yourself.
