Front Brake light Switch

Post by bodie1204 » Wed Oct 10, 2018 10:55 pm

Hey guys,

I am finishing up putting my 65' dream together (it came in boxes), does anyone have a picture or could give a brief description of how the brake light switch for the front hand brake is actuated and wired? I have the foot pedal figured out, but I don't see a spot to mount a front brake light switch. Appreciate the help.

Dustin

Front brake lever switches didn't really appear on bikes until the early seventies...

Thanks Steve,

that makes a lot of sense, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something there.

I know it is not original. But I bought a front brake lever perch with a boss for a brake light switch, sourced a switch drilled a hole in the handle bar and wired to existing brake light wiring.
Since I apply the front brake first and more often than the rear brake I feel safer with the brake illuminating when I apply only the front brake.
