Clutch Center Hubs are not created equal

Post by joeweir1 » Fri Jun 08, 2007 8:06 pm

For those of you who may not know this after tearing down a few different years of the CA77's I have found that there are at least 3 different center hubs for these machines. Two of which look alike and one a noticeable difference. There is the older version that used the fiber disks with a thin first plate, another version that uses the thin first plate but looks like the newer cush drive that uses a thick first plate and the fiber over metal clutch disk.Confused yet?Look at my photo's.One on right older version, middle one used fiber disks with thin first plate and one on left is the one that used the thick first plate and fiber/metal disks. Two on left were marked with a "5" inside.Unless you measure the groove distance for the first wire they look alike.Joe
