Rear Sprocket Question...

Post by Vince Lupo » Mon Nov 12, 2007 3:43 am

Hello Out There -- Stupid Question (did you expect anything less from me?!): What was the stock rear sprocket on a SuperHawk? Was it 30 tooth? When I got my bike a few years back it had a 34.
I just went to a 32 a few months back and I'm thinking of going lower still. As well, has anyone used the 28 tooth that is available and, if so, how has it been to ride with that?

Many thank you's!

The CB72's had a 32 tooth rear sprocker, while the CB77's had a 30.

I actually researched that awhile ago and found that CB77s came with, 28,30,31,33,34 35,37. with the 30 being standard and the rest being optional. One other note; a 32 tooth is an aftermarket sprocket I alwayse liked to use. with the standard front sprocket( which now I don't remember how many teeth on the front). Kustommusic

Standard front sprocket was fifteen on both the CB72 and 77. I remember using both a fourteen and a thirteen depending on the track. There was also a twelve tooth but I don't remember using one, I think it might have wrapped the chain too tight. Been along time-Cliff C.
