Newbee with no 1st gear

Post by benebob » Mon Aug 09, 2004 7:04 pm

Hello, I'm getting a project bike and parts bike to restore for a friend. He tells me that it runs fine but doesn't have 1st gear. The rest of the gears are fine so that would lead me to think that the transmission itself is okay right? What else could it be though if only one of the gears isn't working.

Sorry, didn't see the tranny section. It is a Dream 305. I think it is a 66 but not positive.

it has probably stripped 1 or more teeth off 1st gear and will need replacing
