cb77 clutch?

Post by GregMcN » Wed Jul 26, 2017 4:07 pm

Hi
I pulled my cb77 clutch apart this evening so a few questions:
Manual states 5 clutch plates but exploded diagram shows 6 which should it be?
Diagram also shows 1st plate as different - what is the difference?
What are the stopper rings? Are they important as none on mine?
Not all the clutch plates seem to be the same thickness, some about 1.5mm and some 2mm?
Friction plates look OK all about 3mm thick.

Thanks Greg

HONDA issued several clutch designs.
4 friction, 5 friction, 6 friction than bact to 5 friction.
1966 came the cush drive issue with ALL DIFFERENT parts.
You don't give the year of your bike or the number of plates you have. .........lm

Hi
Sorry did not realise there were lots of versions. Bike is a 65 and has 6 steel. And 6 friction plates but as I have not run the bike and it was stuck in neutral I have no idea whether it works OK.
