Hi there, I'm in the process of stripping a CA77 engine I bought as a spare. The splined shaft in question has the gear lever on one end and spring loaded levers on the other end that rotates the selector drum. I know one of the sprung levers is able to move but the other lever that is attached to the shaft is fitted on a spline and this lever rattles on the splines. Is this correct? It won't come off its splines but does not seem tight enough. The real shame with this engine is it has very little signs of wear, the cam chain tensioner looks almost new and the bores are still standard size but in the past, some cretin has removed the side cases, then left it out in the elements, even the main bearing is seized.
