CB 77 shift drum and forks

Post by kawonda750 » Sat Mar 02, 2019 2:01 pm

Well, I had fun this summer reliving the past on the Super Hawk but it seems that finding second gear is a problem. It shifts down into second but misses going up. I am assuming that the shift fork is bad.
I am looking on the parts drawing . Are the drum and forks the same for all years? Mine is a 67 BTW.
Thanks

What you describe can be the shift drum, and/or the roller or a warn fork or gear dog. .........................lm

I see whole drum and fork assemblies on evil bay. Getting it apart and seeing what looks bad should be my project for next winter

I just had a look at my parts book. There were no changes that show up in the parts book during the entire production.

Might be minor variations in appearance but they are all interchangeable.

Thank you. That was what I had interpreted but it is always better to be sure.
