ISO Shop or Mentoring for fixing CB77 in Bay Area

Post by alonsorobots » Wed Nov 21, 2018 8:54 pm

Hi everyone!

My name is Alonso Martinez and I live in Berkeley, CA. I'm in love with this beautiful bike below, but am having a hard time getting it fixed. Even though I enjoy working on robotics and are somewhat mechanically inclined, I've never worked on a vehicle and am a little afraid of messing up the bike by not knowing what I'm doing.

From this point I feel like I have two options, one is be lucky and find someone who would be willing to share their time expertise to mentor me (paid of course) or finding a shop to work on my bike. I did some digging and so far the best options seem to be Taylor from ReliableCycles in Alameda, or O'Hanlon's in San Francisco.

With my little amount of knowledge it seems to be a combination of petcock issue + new throttle cables needed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!

-Alonso
