Electronic Ignition Kit for CA77

Post by Oilleak » Wed Sep 29, 2004 11:44 am

I might have "Dreamed" this (sorry about that) but I thought that I saw it mentioned somewhere that there would soon be an electronic ignition kit for the CA77. Was that real or did I make it up?

Freddie Main

Well 6 months have passed since Oilleak asked. So I'll ask again. Will there be an electronic ignition available for any of the Dream 305 models? I'm about to get two barn fresh dreams and would like elec ignition if at all possible...

Excuse my ignorance but my understanding is that the 305cc engine remained essentially unchanged throughout its life, at least when it came to electrics. A CDI is available on this site and is well documented, complete with photos.

Tank shape and handlebar position is not going to influence engine design.

Go to the link of E-ignition and have a look. The engines (small and large) and basically the same with different bores...

The CB/CL motors (with few exceptions) have the 180 Degree Cranks and Two Sets of Points. The CA motors have the 360 Degree crank and One Set of Points.

The kits in production right now are those specific to the CB/CL motors.

We are considering putting the CA kits back into production, but the decision has not been finalized. I’ll make an announcement here and on the h305 Mailing List once the CA kits become available.
Thanks for letting me know, Mike. I really hope you do decide to produce the kits for the CA's.
