spark plug reuse

Post by Jim Stuart » Fri Dec 28, 2007 2:19 pm

Just by expermenting, I found a way to recover or repair fouled spark plugs. I put them in the vise and heat them with a propane torch, just enough til the electrode starts to get red/orange. This burns off all the old fuel and carbon. Seems to work for me.

I bought this spark plug cleaner about a year ago and highly recommend it. I have not bought a spark plug since then. I have a Harley and a CB77 and clean the plugs every 500 miles. It will pay for itself in less than a year. You will need to have an air compressor, but other then that it comes with everything.
